The Early Head Start program is looking for a full-time Family Advocate. The Family Advocate provides services for pregnant women and for children and their families in the areas of early childhood development, prenatal education, disabilities, child health and safety, nutrition, and family partnerships. Job duties include conducting weekly home visits to provide education, referrals, and other advisory services to program participants, assisting parents and pregnant women in ensuring that their health and mental health needs are met, and providing emotional support for families and assisting them in their role as an advocate for their child. Driving is required so you must be at least 21, have reliable transportation, a current driver's license, car insurance, and a good driving record. This position requires a CDA credential or comparable credential, or equivalent coursework as part of an associate's or bachelor's degree in a relevant field and a minimum of one year of related experience in early childhood education, family services, or another related field. Knowledge of community resources is a plus. You must have the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
