Chad W. Hutchings

Board Member

 Chad Hutchings is an attorney with almost 20 years of experience in private and public practice. He earned his Juris Doctor degree at Drake University. He earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English with a minor in Russian at the University of Utah. He worked as a law clerk for the Protection and Advocacy System in Iowa. He has served as both private and public guardian ad litem for individuals with developmental disabilities and mental illness. He participated in lobbying for special-needs-related legislation. He served as a member and Vice-Chair on State Library Board from 2015 to 2019. He is active in community emergency preparedness, serving as a member of his city's Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) and is a Neighborhood Emergency Leader for his city's Emergency Management Team. He is the current Chair of the Utah State Bar's Disaster Legal Response Committee. 

Chad is an amateur radio operator, call sign KF7MEB. He enjoys hiking, camping, exploring ghost towns, exploring museums, amateur geology, photography, oil painting, making music, and model railroading - all of which he does with his wife and their six children.
